Qualifications & experience Hold a relevant AQF (or equivalent) Certificate III in Painting and Decorating. Have at least 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Australia. Key Responsibilities: Surface Preparation: Prepare walls for painting, including sanding, scraping, and sealing off surfaces. Fix cracks, holes, and joints using gap fillers, putty knives, or plaster. Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, and electric switch covers prior to painting. Cover surfaces with plastic sheets to protect against paint splatters. Painting and Finishing: Apply paint to walls and ceilings using masked-off and cut-in procedures. Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, enamel, and other finishes. Apply protective coatings, varnish, and clear coats for durability and aesthetic appeal. Undertake masked-off and cut-in procedures for clean, precise lines. Safety and Compliance: Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow Occupational Safety and Health Compliance (OSHC) regulations. Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding safely. Always Work with safety as the primary concern. Additional Duties: Calculate the required quantity of materials for each project. Ensure proper adherence by sealing off walls. Ability to work anywhere in Adelaide as needed. Key Skills and Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities.
