Painter and Decorator – Truganina VIC Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are assisting a successful, locally owned and operated painting business as they recruit their new painter based in Truganina, Victoria. About our client: This professional painting and decorating firm specialises in providing painting solutions for residential and commercial properties. Their services include best practice surface preparation interior and exterior painting, to ensure a high-quality finish tailored to each builder’s preferences. The pipeline of new work is bursting, and they now seek another skilled and qualified full-time painter to join the team. The work is full time and ongoing. Salary – A great salary in the range $75k to $85k plus superannuation per annum. Location – Based in Truganina, Victoria with travel as required for projects across Melbourne metropolitan region. Duties will include: Painting to the highest standard of workmanship - surface prep, as well as mixing and matching. Working with a deep understanding of OHS practices and requirements, apply protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings and other structures. Washing, scraping, sanding and/or smoothing interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing or applying other related materials. Thoroughly cleaning equipment, paint mixing area and work area. Installing, repairing, and maintaining all sorts of internal surfaces, walls to ceilings. Competently erect and use apparatus (ladders and planks) to work safely at all heights. Identification, safe handling and appropriate disposal of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials. Working with pride! To be considered, you need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes and strengths: Possess relevant trade Certificate Level IV or agreed substitute. Have a minimum of one, (or more) years of working experience in the field, since you acquired your qualifications. Well experienced in all aspects of the painting trade. Strong communication skills with a focus on teamwork, patience, and empathy. Comfortable working in a team or independently. A clear Driver’s License is essential. Eager to secure a full-time salaried position (so this role is not suitable for sub-contractors). You must have unrestricted full time Australian working rights to be considered.
