We are looking for motivated individuals to join our growing team based in our office at St Peters, Sydney. Your role will be to simulate wind and other flows in and around the built environment, develop relationships within the industry, and act as a consultant for our clients for future projects. In our CFD team you will have the opportunity to conduct state of the art wind engineering simulations and have access to a high performance computing platform. Projects could include external and internal spaces influenced by wind or other fluid flows. In both cases you will communicate the results and implications to our clients. Reporting to the CFD Engineering Manager, you will: Prepare simulation workflows in accordance with company policies and practices and assist in developing novel approaches as they arise. Learn and deploy best practices for meshing, solution, and post processing of complex and large scale CFD simulations. Collaborate with other team members and across departments to complete project work on time. Prepare high quality documentation for internal projects and reporting for external projects. Assist with R&D topics as they arise. The successful candidate will have: Aeronautical, civil, or mechanical engineering tertiary qualification with fluids and CFD as core subjects. Minimum of 3 years’ experience on technical wind engineering projects, within a consulting environment and with exposure to industrial CFD. Ability to write and interpret analysis code in Python or Matlab, and to operate and script in the linux shell. Beneficial knowledge includes: C++, CUDA, MPI. Experience with CAD (Rhino, Solidworks, Creo, or others). Knowledge of experimental wind tunnel testing techniques and CFD simulation (Fluent and OpenFOAM). Ability to write and communicate professional engineering reports and documentation with little assistance. Ability to liaise directly with clients and develop a client network.
