Your Trust Accounting expertise is required for this successful law firm Your New Company An established and reputable law firm is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Accounts Officer to join its busy Accounts Department, based on the Southern Gold Coast. This is a fulltime, inoffice role supporting a large team across multiple practice areas and contributing to the delivery of exceptional legal services. Your New Role This role is responsible for fullcycle legal trust and office accounting, requiring strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of trust accounting regulations. You will work closely with lawyers, paralegals, and support staff, managing daily financial activities across a range of legal matters. Key Responsibilities Daily trust account bank reconciliations in accordance with trust accounting regulations Receipting trust funds to matters and advising relevant lawyers, with an understanding of multiple parties per matter Client billing based on daily transactions, including fixedfee and hourlyrate invoices Processing client receipts to the general account and issuing receipts Processing EFTPOS payments for trust and general accounts (inperson and over the phone)Preparing trust account EFT payments for settlements, estate distributions, and matterrelated supplier invoices (with coauthorisation via CommBiz)Managing adhoc lawyer and staff queries via the shared accounts inbox Reviewing weekly trusttooffice transfer reports and executing compliant transfers Preparing and issuing updated trust account statements to clients or relevant parties Supporting lawyers and paralegals in progressing bills from draft to final Managing aged debtors and following overdue accounts processes What Youll Need to Succeed Proven experience in legal trust accountingStrong knowledge of trust account legislation and complianceExperience using LEAP legal practice management softwareHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced environment What Youll Get in Return Stable, fulltime role within a respected professional services firmSupportive and collaborative team environmentModern office facilities with strong systems and technology supportOngoing training, mentoring, and career development opportunitiesA workplace culture focused on wellbeing, learning, and purpose What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to moanna.yates@hays.com.au or phone: Ph: 0404 305 351.
