Working within a dynamic finance team, this Assistant Accountant role reports to the Group Finance Manager and provides support in all aspects of financial management and accounting operations. This role will assist with financial and management account reporting, reconciliations, budget and compliance activities, as well as supporting accounts payable and receivable functions. Client Details Our client is an ASX-listed, well established industry leader operating within the Media industry. Description Assist with the month-end close, including preparation of management accounts, journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly variance analysis. Support with Group Finance Manager with the preparation of the group management accounts. Support the preparation of half-year and full-year consolidated financial statements. Assist internal and external audits by preparing schedules, responding to queries, and resolving accounting and reporting issues. Maintain and enhance internal control processes to support financial integrity and risk management. Partner with AP and AR teams to resolve issues relating to invoicing, receivables, and payables. Assist with oversight of banking activities, payroll, ad hoc payments, and other transactional finance activities. Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, consistency, and quality in finance operations and reporting. Support compliance with statutory, tax, and financial reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including liaison with external advisors and auditors. Prepare ad hoc reports and assist with budgets, forecasting, and other finance initiatives as required. Provide general support to the Group Finance Manager and Group CFO and undertake additional accounting-related tasks as needed. Profile A successful Assistant Accountant should have: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA/CPA qualified or working towards. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Job Offer Competitive salary range of $85,000 - $100,000 super bonus.
