Description Join us in our journey We currently have an opportunity for a Trade's Assistant to join our Melbourne Immigration Detention centre located in Broadmeadows. The Trade's Assistant will be responsible for delivering maintenance services and repairs relating to buildings and fixed plant and equipment under the commercial contractual arrangements between Spotless and the client. This role is responsible for ensuring work undertaken in accordance with industry best practice and Australian Standards that will provide best possible outcomes for both the company and the customer. Responsibilities: This position always requires proactive responsibility and vigilance to ensure accurate condition assessments are made, appropriate feedback is provided, faults are reported (regardless of trade discipline) and future work packaging can be efficiently achieved. An understanding of Value for Money (VFM) should be demonstrated, and where appropriate additional works completed, or alternate solutions provided to ensure VFM outcomes and reduced overall maintenance costs. Plan and schedule own work to meet required timelines and outputs Follow policies and procedures as relevant to scope of role and general employment Adhere to Spotless policies, procedures and plans Personal accountability over quality of personal and team output Ensure risks are accurately identified, contained and countermeasures are put in place Uses all equipment in accordance with procedures and instructions and maintains all equipment in a clean condition. Report faults and damage of or to equipment to management To be successful, you will have Minimum two (2) years in relevant field (preferred) A current Working with Children Check (Employee) or willing to apply - Mandatory Requirement Working at height, confined spaces and white card (preferred) Experience using hand or power equipment related to a general trades position Exposure to trades and demonstrable experience as a Trade Assistant Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and risk management principles and practices Knowledge of current industry standards relevant to trade service operations.
