Delivering highly specialised services in support of the investigative functions of the QPS, FSG provide a diverse range of field and laboratory rapid quality assured forensic services to support frontline police in investigating, solving and stopping crime. Please refer to role profile for full details. The Cleveland Administration and Review Officer (ARO) works within the Scenes of Crime office attached to the Cleveland Police Station. The Scenes of Crime office consists of a Sergeant Officer in Charge and nine sworn Scenes of Crime Officers. Cleveland Scenes of Crime is part of the forensic response in the South Brisbane policing District. The role of the ARO plays a significant role in the compliance and maintenance of international ISO standards and accreditation. A main component of the role is the administrative review of forensic case files in accordance with quality assured procedures and practices. The ARO is responsible for assisting with reviews in their own area of responsibility and state-wide when required. A continuous improvement culture is adopted with other duties including the identification of improvement strategies and systems within the work unit, risk mitigation and provision of feedback in line with best practice strategies. The financial responsibilities of the role are limited to the processing of expenditure and other vouchers and maintain financial records including corporate card usage and reconciliation. Your Key Accountabilities The core capability requirements for this role are: Identify administrative changes and training gaps; deliver training to SOC officers to ensure compliance with international ISO standards, procedures and forensic services best practice. Initiate and conduct comprehensive administrative reviews and collaboratively develop administrative processes and strategies. Provide feedback to forensic officers on forensic case files to ensure compliance with international quality assurance standards. Perform administrative risk assessments and identify and analyse compliance trends in support of quality improvements to mitigate risks within forensic service delivery. Collaborate to identify, develop, implement, and maintain efficient office systems and procedures to enhance productivity and streamline FSG operations for the Officer in Charge Scenes of Crime, Forensic Coordinator and Forensic Manager. Establish and maintain effective internal and external communication channels to ensure positive service delivery to police and the community. Provide administrative support to forensic crime scene operations and provision of data to assist projects on behalf of the Officer in Charge Scenes of Crime, Forensic Coordinator and Forensic Manager to ensure effective information management and accurate reporting for the courts of law. Other Role Requirements This is a permanent part-time position working 58:00 hours per fortnight. Hours and days to be negotiated. Administration and Review Officers may be required to conduct administrative reviews of forensic case files generated from any location within the Forensic Services Group.
