Role Purpose The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing and maintaining enterprise-grade applications within our loyalty platform ecosystem. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities · Develop and maintain a suite of applications across technologies like Java, Perl, Golang and SQL. · Experience with batch processing systems to ensure efficient and reliable data workflows. · Ability to act, on a rostered basis, and given time, as primary on-call engineer for a suite of applications, handling incidents and ensuring timely resolution. · Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. · Participate in system design, code reviews, testing, and deployment processes. · Continuously improve system performance, reliability, and scalability. · Document technical designs, processes, and operational procedures. Essential Skills & Experience · Practical experience in Java development (including frameworks such as Spring or similar). Desirable Skills · SQL skills for database design, optimization, and troubleshooting. · Willingness to work with batch systems · Scripting experience or a desire to learn, for legacy system integration. · Willingness to act as primary on-call for application suites · Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks. · Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. · Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). · Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
