We are recruiting for passionate and dedicated Receptionist to join our Specialist Community Services (SCS) team at our Murray Street Accommodation - Wandjoo Bidi . Wandjoo Bidi works as an important part of a broader sector and community working collectively to support people experiencing homelessness and other complex needs. The work is grounded in principles of empowerment, working with Residents to pursue their goals, interests and rights, and having confidence in their capacity to make decisions about their own future acknowledging the importance of developing a transparent and trusting relationship as pivotal to the change process. About the Role This is a maximum-term part-time position (up to 31st July 2028) 27.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am - 3pm Reporting to the Coordinator, our Receptionist delivers a high-quality reception service by warmly welcoming visitors and efficiently handling enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, including Wandjoo Bidi residents. More than this, the Receptionist also performs administration duties and data capture tasks that support the smooth day to day operations of our service. Key responsibilities include: Represent Vinnies positively and professionally when engaging with all internal and external stakeholders. Provide high-quality, trauma-informed support to residents and respond warmly to their requests, in line with practice philosophies. Deliver accurate and efficient administrative support to the Wandjoo Bidi team, including general administrative duties, reporting and scheduling. Assists with events and activities Actively promote continuous improvement and participate in relevant programs. Foster a safe workplace by engaging in WHS practices and identifying ways to mitigate risks. Offer positive and engaging collegial support to the team. About You You bring exceptional reception and administration experience, showcasing your ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively. As an excellent communicator, you can work both autonomously and collaboratively with the team. Your empathetic and non-judgmental approach is essential in supporting individuals who have experienced homelessness. You are sensitive to the needs of others, and your understanding of diversity and social inclusion will be a significant asset in this role. You have demonstrated success in: building and establishing positive professional working relationships; effectively using PABX and answering systems; proficiently utilising Microsoft Office Suite, in particular Outlook, Excel and Word; being flexible and undertaking a broad range of administrative duties; and working effectively and positively in a close team environment.
