The Governance and Capability Service (G&CS) supports the Commissioner of Police in the discharge of his responsibility to control and manage SA Police by ensuring SAPOL has appropriate governance and capability to discharge its statutory charter, other government obligations and meet community expectations. The Service leads in supporting strategic thinking, determining strategic objectives, and fulfilling the organisation's vision and values in driving SAPOL performance. The Service is responsible for anticipating and responding to, the demand for policing services, improving access to and the use of information; performance reporting to the SAPOL executive, government and the public; driving performance policy and strategy development; supporting legislative reform and identifying and addressing emerging issues. The SAPOL Corporate Portfolio Management Office (CPMO) provides relevant information and support to the SAPOL Executive to inform their decision making regarding the direction of the SAPOL portfolio of programs and projects. This includes consistent documentation for the evaluation of proposed initiatives, recommended prioritisation of these initiatives, and the provision of portfolio wide views of the benefits, risks, resource demands and organisational change impact to inform this decision making. The CPMO is also responsible for the development of corporate project-based standards for business case development, project management, risk Management and benefits management, consolidated status reporting and the training and mentoring of relevant project staff. The Portfolio Officer role will develop and provide coordination and administration support for the CPMO with the uplift in portfolio, program and project management capability across SAPOL. The role will work collaboratively with SAPOL executives and staff to embed and administer best practice standards in a range of disciplines such as business change management, benefits management and resource management and project finance to ensure successful delivery of the SAPOL project portfolio. Special Conditions The incumbent must hold a current Australian work eligibility status and will be subject to a criminal history check. The incumbent may be assigned to other duties at this remuneration level or equivalent. Some out of hours work and intra/interstate travel may be required. The incumbent is required to participate in SAPOL’s iEngage program. Salary ASO6 - $98,478 - $104,165 per annum.
