THE ROLE The Senior Policy Adviser will contribute to the development of policy positions and strategic and operational policy advice for Ministers and senior executives regarding the development of disability policy including continuing Victorian service delivery and safeguarding arrangements, along with elements relating to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). In the Disability Policy team, you will use your policy and stakeholder engagement skills and experience in contributing to the design and delivery of policy, strategy, legislation and programs for people with disability. This role will suit a proactive self-starter who can work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across government, including various government department oversight bodies and funded agencies, to support and inform the delivery of strategies that are innovative, evidence-informed, and reflective of best practice. ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE Maintain an understanding of Commonwealth and State legislative and policy reform directions to influence policy development and identify opportunities and risks. Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues based on comprehensive research and liaison with key stakeholders as appropriate. * Develop policy initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters.
