For more information on working with us please visit https://www.humanrights.vic.gov.au/ About the Role The Senior Adviser, Policy and Research (anti-racism) will be part of the anti-racism program of work in the Policy and Research Branch of Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission (the Commission). The aim of the program is to help organisations better understand, prevent and respond to racism and race discrimination in a variety of settings. The role is an opportunity to: lead innovative and tailored anti-racist policy and programs facilitate capacity building sessions and consultations with participating organisations develop eLearning, online tools and/or accessible resources for organisations be part of a broader team that will research, evaluate, user-test and develop intersectional anti-racist content. For this role, applicants from racialised backgrounds or who have a personal experience of racism are strongly encouraged to apply. You will be part of the broader Policy and Research team that works to identify and address systemic equal opportunity and human rights issues in Victoria. The team provides high quality, strategic policy advice, and conducts best practice research to build a strong evidence base. The Senior Adviser, Policy and Research (anti-racism) will contribute to work in the Commission's strategic priority areas: embedding a human rights culture; preventing inequality; eliminating racism and hate speech; and promoting the rights of First Nations people. About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Experience researching, developing and delivering accessible anti-racism and/or racial literacy content to build awareness and create change. Knowledge and experience in equal opportunity and human rights issues such as anti-racism, First Peoples' rights and/or other equality issues. Desirable: Experience using digital products, adult education principles and/or human-centred or co-design to create individual or organisational behaviour change. Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of Victoria's key human rights laws or demonstrated ability to obtain this quickly. Qualifications A tertiary qualification in sociology, education, public policy or other relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant experience is highly desirable.
