Full time ongoing (part time hours considered) Salary range: $113,668 - $131,153 plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging, flexible hybrid work arrangement About the role The Senior Policy and Projects Officer will provide high-level coordination, strategic advice and support within the Office of the Chief Executive Officer (OCEO), focussing on the functions and priorities of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Reporting to the Senior Executive Adviser, the Senior Policy and Project Officer will work across a range of issues relevant to the justice and legal assistance sectors, including contributing to priority projects, policy, law reform, governance and stakeholder engagement processes. This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country. About you As our ideal candidate, you will possess: Demonstrated understanding of government, policy and law reform processes, with experience supporting projects, research and/or policy functions. Excellent research, writing and communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear advice, summaries and briefings to assist effective decision-making. Strong organisational and time management skills, including capacity to work independently, manage competing tasks and contribute positively within a busy team environment. Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and policy frameworks, government processes, and an understanding of the broader context in which VLA operates. Ability to develop and maintain systems and processes to support the delivery of key priorities and broader organisational effectiveness. Demonstrated experience working with First Nations Australians, including an understanding of the cultural norms, communication styles and complex issues experienced by Australian First Nations peoples.
