About the Role As our Merchandise Planner , you'll be accountable for maximising sales and profitability across AU and US markets. You'll ensure the right product lands in the right place at the right time driving sales, margin, and stock productivity across both regions. Working closely with Buying, Product, Operations, and Marketing, you'll own the full merchandise planning lifecycle: from range building and budget development through to in-season trading, replenishment, and post-season analysis. Responsibilities Category Planning & Forecasting Own end-to-end merchandise planning for your category across AU and US, delivering seasonal sales, margin and stock budgets Build and maintain accurate forecasts, buy plans and intake phasing aligned to regional demand Assess and manage regional differences in demand, launch timing and product performance Deliver seasonal planning milestones on time with budgets and buy plans submitted by agreed deadlines Inventory Management & Allocation Own inventory health for your category across AU and US, maintaining optimal weeks of cover targets by market Monitor and act on sell-through rates, stock turn and ageing metrics to minimise aged inventory Manage allocations and replenishment across warehouses, regions and channels to ensure stock availability on core lines Partner with Operations and Supply Chain on incoming shipments, intake timing and landed cost considerations Execute clearance and markdown strategies by market to protect margin Proactively identify and escalate inventory risks and opportunities In-Season Trading & Performance Lead weekly category trade analysis across AU and US, identifying key performance drivers and delivering actionable insights Monitor performance vs budget, forecast and prior year by market and channel Re-forecast as required and make data-led recommendations on rebuys, pull-forwards, pushouts or cancellations Evaluate promotional and campaign performance by region and channel Own category inputs into weekly trading meetings, clearly articulating risks, opportunities and recommended actions Respond to in-season trading opportunities and challenges with agility Reporting & Analysis Prepare and maintain weekly sales, stock and KPI reporting by market and category Deliver clear, commercially focused insights on performance, risks and opportunities Conduct post-season analysis, translating learnings into actionable recommendations for future planning Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across planning tools, reports and systems Develop and refine reporting formats that improve visibility and decision-making Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner effectively with Design, Production, Operations and Retail teams across AU and US Support Production by keeping teams aligned with Critical Path milestones and key supplier deadlines Provide Marketing with accurate product availability, launch timing and stock depth insights by region Work with Finance to align forecasts, budgets and financial expectations across markets Contribute to improvements in merchandise planning processes, tools and documentation as the business scales About You Essential: 4–6 years' experience in Merchandise Planning, Inventory Planning or a similar retail planning role Strong commercial acumen with deep understanding of sales drivers, margin management and inventory productivity Advanced Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, lookups and forecasting models Confident interpreting large datasets and translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations Ownership mindset with comfort making decisions and being accountable for category performance across regions Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Clear, confident communicator able to influence stakeholders cross-functionally and cross-regionally Desirable: Experience in a multi-market or international retail business Familiarity with Shopify, Cin7 Core or similar inventory/ERP systems Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) Qualifications in Business, Commerce, Retail or a related field Experience in homewares, lifestyle or e-commerce retail Why Join Hommey?
