About the Role:As the Principal Advisor you will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following: Consulting with departmental officers and briefing the Assistant Director-General both verbally and in writing, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or immediate attention. Support delivery of time-limited initiatives where information and coordination is required across multiple teams or business areas. While not primarily a correspondence role, you will ensue high level quality assurance and critical analysis of media, briefings and submissions in order to ensure accuracy in both content and presentation, and alignment with relevant legislation and policies. Engaging in analysis and prepare associated briefs, reports and submissions on specific issues as required by the Assistant Director-General. Develop, maintain and foster effective networks, consultation and liaison between the division, other areas with the Department of Education, other government departments, and other key stakeholders and partners in the support of the department's strategic agenda. Promote strong connections and foster strong collaborative partnerships across the division and department. Lead a small team delivering the work outputs of the Office of the Assistant Director General, Services and Infrastructure Planning.
