The Continuous Shift Clinical Assistant role at Pathology Queensland TPCH Core Laboratory works day, evening, and overnight shifts as a member of the laboratory team to provide a 24/7 Central Specimen Reception (CSR) service by participating in general preanalytical duties specifically relating to the CSR and where required relating to Specimen Collection or general laboratory duties. Pathology Queensland TPCH is the group coordinating laboratory in a group of three laboratories located at The Prince Charles, Caboolture and Redcliffe Hospitals. All laboratories are accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA). It is laboratory service policy to encourage interchange of staff between the Redcliffe, Caboolture and TPCH Laboratories to foster close liaison between the laboratories and professional development of all staff within TPCH Laboratory Group. About you We are searching for someone with: Demonstrated experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical processes in a complex specimen reception/specimen collection unit. Demonstrated experience in or the ability to acquire experience in the correct procedures of specimen reception/specimen collection including the application of established policies and guidelines with minimal supervision. Demonstrated high level skills, or the ability to rapidly acquire high level skills, in the use of Microsoft Office applications and the laboratory information system (AUSLAB). The ability to efficiently prioritise workloads, show initiative, problem solve and work effectively without direct supervision. Proven ability to work effectively as a team member and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleagues, including the ability to work across the TPCH Group Laboratories. Demonstrated ability to participate in quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authority/International Standardisation Organisation (NATA/ISO) accreditation / certification.
