About the role The Office of the Assistant Director-General (OADG) performs a dual role to support the Assistant Director-General and Executive Director within Strategic Policy and Legislation (SPL) and the provision of business and administration support to the Strategic Policy and Legislation business unit. SPL has teams that focus on specific aspects of policy and legislation across criminal and civil law, as well as a specialist project team. The OADG team provides a coordination, advisory and facilitation role in liaison with the individual SPL teams to enable the business unit to achieve its objectives and purpose. The OADG is a fast-paced, professional office, requiring our staff to have strong organisational and time management skills. By working with us, you will be part of a team that has a crucial role to provide executive and business support to the Assistant Director-General and support the delivery of services by SPL through consultation and development of corporate relationships across the department to achieve strategic solutions. You will achieve this through providing advice, problem solving, analysis and strategic thinking. What you will bring To thrive in this role, you will need: Sound knowledge and application of human resources, financial management and administrative processes and complies with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks Well developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and an ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential matters whilst liaising with a wide range of stakeholders. Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member, and build and sustain relationships to enable the delivery of customer-focused outcomes Demonstrates accountability for the execution and quality results through professionalism, persistence and transparency Experience in the use of computerised information systems at a high level, such as SharePoint, SAP financial management, electronic document management systems (eg. eDOCS), Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and MS Teams.
