Make a difference in a growing NFP that supports military veterans and their families Full time permanent position Competitive remuneration on offer super & salary packaging benefits (up to $18,550 tax-free salary component = more take home pay) Located at our purpose-designed V-Centre in Ivanhoe with free onsite parking and close to public transport About the Role The Program Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of The V-Centre and successfully delivering its Veteran Empowerment Program to veterans of all ages, some who may be at risk of homelessness. The Veteran Empowerment Program provides wraparound support services to veterans staying in transitional accommodation who may have a range of complex social and/or health needs and are at risk of homelessness, with the goal of empowering them in to a meaningful life with stable accommodation. For more information: The V Centre - Vasey RSL Care About You To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about empowering people to reach their goals, be a skilled program manager and be a savvy networker to navigate referral pathways, thereby achieving high quality outcomes for participants and the program. You will also have: Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Allied Health, Community Services or related field, and/or management; or relevant Diploma with extensive experience and knowledge of homelessness, mental health, AOD and/or other complex health related matters and services Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations of a health care program, unit or facility Experience leading a team and maintaining a positive workplace culture Demonstrated knowledge of homelessness including context, causes, issues, philosophies and legislation Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with challenging behaviours and to think clearly and analytically for responding appropriately to unexpected situations as they arise Proven effective and kind communication, and interpersonal skills to relate positively and confidently with our veteran clients; staff and stakeholders Demonstrated strong computer literacy with emphasis on Microsoft Office, client management systems and internet Satisfactory completion of a National Police Records Check (arranged by Vasey RSL Care). Valid working rights which will be subject to a VEVO check. An understanding of veteran needs and culture of peer support and camaraderie will be very highly regarded.
