The opportunity As Financial Controller, you will own the end-to-end finance function and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team. Your remit will span operational finance, compliance, treasury, reporting, systems, and strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead and mentor the accounts team, driving performance, accountability, and continuous improvement Oversee day-to-day finance operations including AP, AR, payroll, and month-end processes Maintain and strengthen internal controls across all group entities Financial Control & Reporting Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and consolidated statutory reporting Drive a best-practice close process with a target 7-day month-end turnaround Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial models Construction & Project Finance Oversee project budgets, cost tracking, margins, and build profitability Review contracts, progress claims, retentions, and bank guarantees Monitor build costs, fixed overheads, and bottom-line performance Weekly and monthly forecasting of cash flow and progress claims Treasury & Risk Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships Ensure compliance with finance facility covenants Oversee business risk management and insurance policies Compliance & Governance Full responsibility for group compliance including Income Tax, GST, FBT, Payroll Tax and Workers Compensation Manage financial and regulatory compliance for state building licences Oversee QBCC revenue tracking and NSW warranty insurance requirements Maintain accounting and project systems, ensuring data integrity and reporting capability Strategic & Commercial Partner with leadership on business planning, structuring, and growth initiatives Lead tax planning in conjunction with external advisers Support acquisitions, including due diligence and transaction documentation Maintain strong relationships with banks, insurers, and external accountants Cash & Supplier Management Daily cash flow oversight with the Accounts Manager Review and approval of accounts payable Management of supplier credit applications If this role sounds like the right fit for you, please Apply Now or contact Marco directly via email.
