McArthur is seeking an experienced Fraud Data Analyst, to support our federal Government clients' Compliance and Legal function. Our client provides services that support both veterans and their surrounding families. Commencing in February, this position offers full-time hours and is a casual contract for a period of 12 months. To be eligible for this role, you must have Australian Citizenship, and the ability to obtain, and maintain a baseline security clearance. Successful candidates performing this role, may also be required to obtain an ACIC suitability assessment. Key Responsibilities: Lead the identification, documentation, and integration of internal and external datasets required for fraud detection and compliance analytics (e.g., Medicare claims, provider billing, financial transactions). Develop Teradata SQL programs to interrogate and combine datasets to detect and analyse fraud and non-compliance risks. Implement and enhance data quality frameworks, governance, and security measures to ensure reliable, analysis-ready data assets for financial integrity analytics. Collaborate with compliance and intelligence teams to develop new indicators and expand detection logic for financial integrity concerns, including rule-based and predictive models. Design and calibrate detection models in Teradata SQL (e.g., anomaly detection, predictive modelling, network analysis) to identify unknown or difficult-to-detect non-compliance and fraud risks for initial assessment by operational integrity teams. Develop and maintain tools to summarise detection analytics insights, providing key information to teams conducting compliance activities. Build and refine dashboards and reporting products that translate analytical results into actionable intelligence for compliance and operational teams. Contribute to the design and implementation of multi-factor risk scoring frameworks and tools, enabling DVA to identify and prioritise high-risk providers for compliance action. Support the establishment of coordinated agency-wide intelligence functions and case governance committees, ensuring data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement. Monitor and report on the effectiveness of compliance activities, contributing to the refinement of intervention strategies and savings methodologies. Selection Criteria: Advanced data profiling, analysis, and integration skills, with experience in Teradata SQL, ETL, and data warehousing practices. Proven ability to develop and implement detection indicators, risk scoring models, and analytics tools for compliance and fraud detection. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytics into actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in testing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of data products and analytical processes. Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure), data governance tools (Microsoft Purview), and analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, SAS).
