The occupant of this position will assist the Head of Department in management of a busy clinical service, and to direct the other departmental administrative staff. The position holder ensures the provision of a high standard of clinical and administrative support services including but not limited to confidential document preparation, agenda and minute preparation, corporate resources management, human resource documentation, as well as assistance with the preparation of policies and procedures in a timely, patient-focused and resource-efficient manner. Selection Criteria Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills and demonstrated success in delivering high level support services to the management of a busy clinical department. Demonstrated exceptional office management and organisational skills. Experience in project management. Demonstrated ability to manage a high workload, prioritise tasks whilst under sustained pressure, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to show initiative and use sound judgement and work collaboratively and as part of a team as well as independently. Demonstrated experience in writing reports, developing procedures and work practices, business papers/agendas, minute taking and high level correspondence with attention to detail.
