Thornlands is about 40 minutes from the heart of Brisbane and surrounded by koala bushland and the sea. Our school provides a safe and supportive environment for students with disabilities to learn. Students access the Australian Curriculum which is differentiated to their learning needs. About the Role As Deputy Principal at Redland District Special School, you will play a key role in shaping senior schooling for students in years 10-12 with complex needs. You will work alongside a passionate leadership team to drive innovation, embed evidence-based practices, and ensure all students are supported to achieve their full potential. Your Responsibilities As the Deputy Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Collaborate with school leaders and teachers to implement evidence-based teaching and learning programs. Analyse and utilise student data to drive continuous improvement, inform personalised learning strategies, and monitor student progress. Support and promote a positive school culture through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), and trauma-informed practices (Reboot). Lead, mentor, and develop staff, fostering a professional learning community that is collaborative, reflective, and focused on student outcomes. Contribute to whole-school planning and decision-making, ensuring that initiatives align with the school's vision and values. Champion inclusive practices, ensuring a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students, staff, and the wider school community.
