Workplace Health & Safety Manager Brisbane City An industry-leading not-for-profit operating in the health, education and community services sectors is looking for a skilled Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) professional to step up into a manager-level role. This position oversees WHS systems and culture across 20 sites throughout Queensland — making it ideal for someone with multi-site safety experience looking to advance their career. About the Role As the WHS Manager, you will provide state-wide leadership in the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the WHS strategy and systems. This position oversees governance, reporting, and culture-building initiatives that support senior leaders and the Board in meeting their safety and due diligence obligations. You’ll also lead a small, capable WHS team (team of 2 currently) and provide hands-on support to operational sites across Queensland — ensuring compliance while fostering a strong, positive safety culture. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain WHS frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with legislative and organisational requirements. Provide WHS governance reporting and insights to senior leadership and the Board, including risk analysis and performance metrics. Advise on compliance with the WHS Act 2011 (Qld), Regulations, and Codes of Practice. Lead incident management and investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Deliver proactive WHS support and coaching to operational leaders and teams across diverse service areas. About You You’re an experienced WHS professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for building safer workplaces. You thrive in complex, people-focused environments and bring both strategic and practical expertise. You’ll bring: Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline Proven WHS leadership experience across multi-site or community-based operations Deep understanding of Queensland WHS legislation, frameworks and best practice Experience leading teams and influencing cultural change Current unrestricted driver’s licence Eligibility to work in Australia (Blue Card required prior to commencement.)
