About the role In this temporary full-time (3 months) leadership role, you will provide expert direction and operational oversight of nursing and midwifery services within Mount Isa Hospital. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, you will drive high-quality care delivery, workforce performance and effective governance frameworks. Key responsibilities include: Provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring safe, compassionate and person-centred care. Ensure consistent delivery of quality and performance targets aligned with organisational priorities. Lead clinical governance initiatives and uphold contemporary nursing standards and models of care. Oversee workforce planning, staffing, recruitment and resource allocation for effective service delivery. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, education and professional development. Support research, innovation and evidence-informed practice across nursing services. Foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, including culturally responsive engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Provide transformational leadership to empower, engage and motivate nursing teams. Requirements Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences. C Class Motor Vehicle Licence. Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
