About the Role ALS Food & Pharmaceutical Division operates a modern laboratory at Rydalmere, Sydney. The division is seeking two entry level Laboratory Technicians to become a part of the Microbiology team that strives to exceed customer expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients. Ideal candidates will have a science qualification or lab certificate, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to quality, safety, and client service. In order to meet expectations for our amazing clients you will also need to be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment. To be successful for this role you must be available to work full-time across the following days and times: Wednesday to Friday 10:45am to 7:00pm AND Saturday & Sunday 7:30am to 3:45pm Please note that there may be overtime hours as required. Key Responsibilities Perform microbiological testing including: Food, Pharmaceutical and/or Water sample preparation and testing Daily QC Maintain accurate and timely laboratory records and documentation Follow Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Participate in laboratory housekeeping and inventory control Assist in laboratory investigations and reporting Engage in continuous learning and on-the-job training Requirements Diploma or BSc (or equivalent) in Microbiology, Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline Strong understanding of microbiological principles and aseptic technique High attention to detail and strong organisational skills Capable to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow strict procedures and protocols Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) A team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn Working at ALS The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.
