About the Role The Environmental team operates a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Springvale) . We are seeking a Soil Preparation Laboratory Technician to join our team, which is dedicated to exceeding client expectations by delivering quality results on time and maintaining strong client relationships. This is a part-time afternoon shift position, from 3:00 pm to 11:15 pm. Our team is growing, and we have new roles available that require the flexibility to work up to full-time hours across five days when needed, which may include a Saturday shift. The Day to Day Prepare soil samples. Follow ALS Quality Work Instructions (QWIs) for all preparation, analytical procedures, and related tasks. Organise assigned tasks to maximise daily efficiency. Complete all tasks within the timeframes set by the Supervisor and in line with relevant analysis standards. Operate sample preparation equipment. Identify and report anomalies in results or sample behaviour to the Section Supervisor. Undertake cross-training to manage workflow fluctuations and cover staff leave. Perform other duties as required. The Essentials Previous production experience Tertiary qualification desirable but not required Excellent attention to detail, communications and organisational skills. Dedication to safe, quality laboratory practices. Strong commitment to client service A positive work attitude, willingness to learn new skills and to be a great team player. Ideally, experience in a high throughput, client-focused environment. Ability to work well independently. Sound judgement and an effective problem-solving approach.
