The Assistant Director – Inclusive Education Strategy, System Reform Team, will be responsible for undertaking research and analysis, providing advice, and supporting the implementation of Inclusive Education: A Disability Inclusion Strategy for ACT Public Schools 2024-2034 (the Strategy). The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organised with demonstrated experience in Government writing, managing and delivering projects and reporting on multiple bodies of work in the context of strengthening inclusive education for students with disability in ACT public schools. Ideally applicants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of contemporary issues related to inclusive education and the delivery of education to children and young people with disability. They would also have demonstrated capacity to build relationships, be agile to respond to changing priorities and possess highly developed communication skills. Main responsibilities of the role include to: Work as part of a small team with responsibility for aligning, connecting and collaborating with strategic partners to help drive the vision and implementation of the Strategy. Design planning for the implementation of the Strategy and assist to develop Action Plans. Work collaboratively with other parts of the Strategic Policy branch and Directorate to ensure alignment of strategies, policies, and projects with a focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people from 0-18 years. Research, prepare and review comprehensive reports, advice and documentation for government and executive audiences, including policy and legislative analysis, cabinet submissions, project documentation and business cases. Represent the Directorate in working groups and forums, and liaise with internal and external partners and stakeholders as required to achieve positive progress towards the goals of the Strategy.
