The Role The ALS Geochemistry business stream based in Stafford, Brisbane , is seeking a full time Technical Administration Assistant to support the operations of a fast-paced minerals preparation and analytical laboratory. The primary function of this role is to provide data entry services utilising the company’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). However, the successful applicant may be expected to undertake other duties as required and within their capabilities. Hands-on training will be provided in various areas of the laboratory and preparation sections to gain an understanding of the operations of the facilities. Opportunities are available for career development, as ALS is looking for future leaders to be developed within the company. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday. The essentials Excellent verbal and written communication, organisational and time management skills A high level of computer literacy, specifically Microsoft programs (training is provided for internal systems). Strong attention to detail with a proven ability to collect, interpret and manage data efficiently and accurately. A proven ability to retain large amounts of information is essential. A hands-on attitude to a variety of tasks Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Ability to work quickly and accurately with a high level of attention to detail. Well presented with a friendly team manner Reliable, and flexible with working hours as business needs dictate from time to time. In order to be successful, you will have a responsible and flexible attitude to your daily tasks and be able to operate well in a high-volume work area, performing work using Microsoft applications as well as learning to use our in-house system. A proven ability to work well in a team environment and the willingness to use initiative towards the completion of given tasks will be highly regarded. Initially the position will include many entry level duties, but the scope and complexity of the role will increase with experience and demonstrated skills.
