Rare opportunity for an experienced Legal Assistant / Practice Group Administrator in Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety. Job Description: Our client is a leading national law firm seeking a full-time Legal Assistant / Practice Group Administrator to join their Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety Division in their wonderful Melbourne office. This is a newly created role offering variety and scope, combining traditional Legal Assistant support with practice group administration. You will be supporting a Special Counsel, a Senior Associate and the Practice Group Leader, working across a team that is continuing to grow. The Role: Providing Legal Assistant support (70%) and Practice Group administration (30%) File and document management, including correspondence, advice, and court documents Drafting using templates, precedents, and mail merge documents Calendar, email, and travel management Handling client communications and assisting with billing Coordinating practice group and team meetings, including agendas and minutes Assisting with staff onboarding and leave management Organising training, team functions, and client events Liaising with internal teams including Finance, Marketing, IT and People & Culture What you need: Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant (litigation/advisory essential; workplace relations experience highly regarded) Strong administration, drafting, and organisational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach About the firm: You will be joining a high-performing, supportive Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety team that works across litigation, advisory and transactional matters.
