Roads ACT is seeking a highly motivated person with expertise in Road Network Operations to join our Network Operations team. This role assists in the planning, design and implementation of Temporary Traffic Management plans for planned and unplanned events/incidents on the road network. This includes special events, traffic incidents, police operations, etc. The role requires a mix of office and field-based work with a requirement for overtime and on-call availability. The role involves contribution to the development and implementation of policy, procedure and technical documents relating to Network Operations activities. This position requires a highly motivated person with exceptional time management skills and the ability to work autonomously or with minimal direction. The role requires well developed communication skills to ensure appropriate messaging is provided to emergency services; contractors; Traffic Management Centre (TMC); Community members; Senior Managers and Executives Roads ACT is a multidisciplinary Branch which responsible for the management of the territorial and municipal roads, national highways, the community paths, stormwater system, bridges, carpark facilities, traffic signals, streetlights, and associated infrastructure. Roads ACT manage these assets on behalf of the ACT Government for the enjoyment of the Canberra community. The Road and Path Network business unit looks after maintenance of traffic signals, traffic operations, the road resurfacing program, community path network and car parks.
