The key duties of the position include The Role The Navy Logistics and Infrastructure Branch currently has a APS 6 vacancy in the Navy Infrastructure project delivery team based in Canberra. The intent is to establish a merit pool that may be used to fill future vacancies in the directorate. Responsibilities: Working with key stakeholders to define and prioritise Navy's infrastructure requirements, provide coordination and input into their development, and monitor and assure their delivery. Developing and writing briefs, ministerial correspondence and representing Navy's interests at relevant Committees and fora. All roles will involve building and sustaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance outcomes for Navy. About our Team The Navy Logistics and Infrastructure Branch is an integrated Branch comprised of APS, ADF and contractor team members. These teams contribute to infrastructure requirements identification, the development of shepherding of infrastructure projects through the necessary approval processes, monitor project delivery and provide assurance to Navy's senior leadership on progress milestone and completion. Infrastructure projects are categorised as either new capability projects (e.g. introduction of a new ship) which may require dedicated infrastructure, or sustainment projects which seek to maintain the operation effectiveness of the existing Defence Estate. The Infrastructure Directorate is also responsible for the strategic planning that ensures Navy has the right facilities and infrastructure in the right locations at the right time and to support maritime capabilities. The Branch as a whole has a key role in working across Navy and Defence, in particular, advocating the Navy regarding the delivery of infrastructure and logistics services and facilities development.
