About our Team The Workforce Guidance and Plans Directorate is part of Military Workforce Design Division (MWDD). The team's mission is to lead ADF input into workforce capability and growth plans and integrate organisation fundamental inputs to capability across all Domains, to ensure the Future Integrated Force is designed to be affordable, achievable, sustainable and integrated. The Directorate is the conduit for external project stakeholders to engage Military Workforce Design Division to manage Average Funded Strength (AFS) growth, allocations, and publication of workforce allocations across the ADF. Our Ideal Candidate As an APS 6 Workforce Planning Officer, you will: Operate within an integrated workforce and contribute to the analysis of future Australian Defence Force (ADF) capability, in support of National Defence Strategy (NDS) and Integrated Investment Program (IIP). Provide advice in relation to complex workforce issues and contribute to strategic planning and policy development. Apply critical thinking to undertake and inform complex problem solving and decision-making. Support and contribute to the management of ADF workforce allocations and consider continuous improvement opportunities for current and future reporting products, presentation of information and data visualisations, ensuring collaboration within the Division and across Defence. Conduct Workforce Affordability assessments within documented service delivery timeframes using the established methodology. This includes maintaining related artefacts and implementing continuous improvement actions when identified. Maintain a suite of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the effective management and maintenance of ADF workforce allocations, Affordability assessments as well as other governance and internal policy as required. Support Business Engagement activities including maintaining and building relationships within the Division and across Defence. This includes managing the relationship with Defence Finance Group to ensure the ADF Workforce Budget is appropriately provided. Contribute to and produce learning artefacts to support and build Workforce Planning literacy across Defence (including Intranet updates). Contribute to the development of frameworks to ensure future workforce analysis is undertaken using consistent and robust methodologies.
