The key duties of the position include The Role The Quality Assurance and Governance Officer plays a critical role in the oversight and application of the SATCOMSPO governance framework as it applies to acquisition projects and product sustainment activities. This role is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex assurance and compliance work, ensuring knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. The role works closely with the SATCOMSPO Business Management Unit to design and implement core functions aligned to CASG governance including quality management, compliance and audit, risk management, development of processes and procedures, document control and corporate reporting. This role also provides oversight of, and improvement to, core SPO documentation and information management. About our Team Satellite Communication Systems Program Office (SATCOMSPO), within the Space Systems Branch, acquires and sustains satellite communications capability and is a trusted advisor of SATCOM systems for the Australian Defence Organisation. The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies. This role forms part of the SATCOMSPO Business Management Unit consisting of: Business Operations, Governance, Project Controls and Export Controls professionals who provide cross-functional support to the SPO. This includes but is not limited to: The ability to lead and manage the SPO's Governance Framework. Proven experience in quality management, governance, compliance and audit, risk management and corporate reporting activities. Attention to detail, strong organisational skills and ability to work independently. Ability to build and sustain effective relationships with team members, management and stakeholders. Provide guidance on the management of governance processes and planning, including the review and improvement of business activities. Contribute to the strategic review of quality assurance systems in the areas of strategic and business planning, performance measurement and continuous improvement.
