About the role Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working as part of our Senior Leadership team, this in an exciting opportunity for an experienced senior operations leader to join a people focused, growing organisation, at a very exciting time. Over the next 3-5 years we will be expanding from a 450 person organisation to a circa 800 person organisation and we need the right person to lead our people on that journey through strategic thinking, operational excellence and a supportive approach. Key objectives of the role include: • Collaborate with Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team in setting and driving the overall organisational vision and strategy • Contribute to overall company growth and profitability through the implementation of strategic initiatives, efficiencies and other strategies • Development of our leaders across the group to drive high quality outcomes and employer of choice status • Translate strategy into actionable steps and measurable outcomes, then ensure the company delivers on these actions and meets agreed goals/objectives • Responsible for overseeing our team of 450 Educators, building a high-performance culture that ensures team members can thrive and develop their careers and that organisational goals and key metrics are met • Ensure a highly effective employee lifecycle is in place from onboarding, engagement, learning & development through to retention • Ensure compliance with national and state industry regulations alongside company policies and procedures, and take appropriate action when necessary • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external, including industry bodies, partners and suppliers Day to day responsibilities include: • Oversee the daily operations of the organisation and ensure that all processes and procedures are running smoothly • Ensure compliance and child safety practises and procedures are upheld and engrained into our culture • Analyse internal operations and identify areas for process improvement/ enhancement and implement accordingly • Drive business growth through identifying new business opportunities/initiatives and customer value • Lead and motivate a high performing and productive workforce • Troubleshoot, problem solve and manage operational issues as they arise • Oversee the day-to-day workloads and performance of direct (and if required, indirect) reports towards the achievement of agreed objectives, through the provision of clear direction/expectations, coaching and support • Manage budget and expenses to ensure that the company achieves key metrics • Identify and mitigate risks across all areas of operations through a clear understanding and a thorough risk management process that initiates quick action to address risks • Project management of key operational initiatives as they arise • In addition, the role involves managing special ad hoc projects as they arise About you We are looking for a highly experienced and results orientated leader, with extensive experience in an operations or general manager role, ideally having helped a medium sized business grow to a large business and having transitioned to a more senior operations role as a result. You will have exceptional leadership and people skills and the ability to ensure that short term deliverables are met, whilst building a sustainable business for long term growth. You will be strategically minded whilst also ensuring you are across the details and willing to roll up your sleeves and support our frontline team when needed. You will have a proven track record of building strong internal relationships whilst delivering tangible results, allowing us to build an industry leading culture whilst delivering on our operational strategy and key objectives. You will bring: • Extensive leadership experience – at least five years in senior leadership roles within organisations of a similar scale and complexity. • Inspirational leadership – proven ability to lead with integrity, resilience, and a clear sense of purpose. • Regulatory expertise – experience navigating highly regulated industries with strong compliance requirements. • Team leadership excellence – a track record building, developing, and empowering high-performance teams. • Strategic acumen – demonstrated capability in long-term business planning, leading organisational change, and driving growth. • Executional strength – proven ability to design, oversee, and deliver successful projects. • Problem solving mindset – strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate risks. • Leadership development skills – experience mentoring and cultivating emerging leaders within your teams. • Relationship building – excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels. • Exceptional communication – outstanding verbal and written with the ability to distil complexity and inspire confidence. • Employee relations expertise – sound knowledge of ER/IR processes and practical experience applying them in complex environments. • Commercial and financial acumen - demonstrated success in managing budgets, financial performance and P&L responsibility. • Operational excellence – highly organised, detail orientated, and able to balance multiple priorities effectively. • Curiosity and insight – a naturally inquisitive mindset, with an analytical approach to decision-making and problem solving.
