About the role We’re seeking a Senior Advisor, HSE Systems, who will have oversight and maintenance of the Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS) to ensure a structured and proactive approach to managing health, safety and environmental processes across the organisation. This will involve developing, maintaining and leading the change management of HSEMS in accordance with the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. You’ll join an innovative team, who are responsible for developing and implementing the HSE Management System and training programs for the Group. Day-to-day, you will: Manage the HSE Management System, updating as required, to ensure an intuitive experience to support employee access and capability development across the business Establish and maintain health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, frameworks, procedures and other HSE resources to ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations Develop and implement communication and consultation frameworks to drive stakeholder engagement and effective implementation of the HSEMS Develop the HSE Action Plan Framework and support communication, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the annual HSE actions Lead the implementation of the framework, including the HSE Roles and HSE Contractor Frameworks Work with the Leadership Team to embed the framework across the Group Administrator and primary contact for HSEMS platforms, including the HSE intranet site, event reporting (Enablon) Administrator HSE document management processes including planning scheduling document reviews in line with Transurban’s’ requirements Develop and deliver HSE training programs tailored to different roles and risk levels and ensure alignment with mandatory requirements Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns including lessons learnt, case studies and toolbox talk's Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and standards by conducting assurance activities to verify compliance of the HSE Management Systems and training obligations Identify and develop initiatives in alignment with the core capabilities as identified by the Executive and Board as well as with the HSE and People and Culture strategies This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferable skills and experiences, including: Demonstrated experience working in a Health, Safety and Environment role with a strong background in managing HSE Management Systems and compliance Previous success in a similar role, preferably in the transport, construction or mining/manufacturing environment In-depth knowledge of Australian HSE regulations and standards, such as those set by Safe Work Australia and aligned with State based agencies Ability to design, deliver and implement a learning solution for a documented business need A commitment to continuous improvement in HSE practices and the ability to adapt to evolving business needs Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to consult, influence, negotiate and present, as needed with employees, stakeholders and senior leaders Proven ability to manage, plan and organise and prioritise own workload to achieve set objectives within specified timeframes Tertiary qualifications in HSE or a related discipline will be highly regarded Experience with Enablon or other similar incident management solutions is desired If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
