The key duties of the position include The Role The Director ANNPSR Policy in the Regulatory Framework Branch leads a team to develop policy that meets ANPSRD objectives. They shape, develop and implement strategic policies in highly complex areas that address the whole-of-government Naval Nuclear Power regulatory agenda. They also strategically evaluate policy effectiveness in the whole-of-government context. The Director ANNPSR Policy advises on highly complex and sensitive policy matters that contribute to the ANPSRD and stakeholder's strategic Naval Nuclear Propulsion (NNP) policy direction. They undertake highly complex research and analysis in regard to NNP to provide evidence-based recommendations including those that facilitate legislative development. They will oversee the provision of highly complex correspondence and documentation for the future Director-General ANNPSR and other government and industry stakeholders and maintain accurate records of discussions and decisions. They will advance the development and implementation of processes, procedures and tools that support the delivery of high quality policy advice. Finally, an important part of their role is to display leadership qualities and manage a high performing team, while ensuring the delivery of results aligned with organisational goals and requirements. Due to the unique workplace context and sensitive work undertaken, candidates may be required to undergo additional suitability screening or assessments.
