The key duties of the position include The Role The APS 6 Senior Policy Officer in the Regulatory Framework Branch work under limited direction to develop and implement complex policies within the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator (ANNPSR) areas. They will identify issues, undertake research and analysis, and consult with a range of stakeholders to develop and implement policy programs, all while working effectively in a team environment. The Senior Policy Officer also measures and monitors policy effectiveness. They support the provision of complex policy advice in alignment with the development and establishment of clear strategic priorities and procedures. The Senior Policy Officer contributes to complex requests for advice and emerging issues, with thoroughly researched evidence-based recommendations. They support policy advice creation and systems improvement and the development and implementation of processes, procedures and tools that support the delivery of high quality policy advice. Due to the unique workplace context and sensitive work undertaken, candidates may be required to undergo additional suitability screening or assessments. Whilst this position has been advertised through Department of Defence, in line with the announcement made by the Australian Government on 14 Mar 23, this position will move to a new Statutory Agency with an effective yet to be confirmed.
