About the opportunity We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Stormwater Engineer Design (S7.11) to join the Asset Design team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is responsible for contributing to creating a liveable, safe and sustainable Blacktown City through the design of stormwater infrastructure and catchment management across the North West Growth Area. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete allocated civil designs and tasks in accordance with professional engineering standards Assist in providing input into strategic documents such as a review of Local Environmental Plans (LEP), State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPP), Development control plans (DCPs) S7.11 Developer contribution plans and polices Assist with the preparation of technical stormwater documents and provide technical expertise to stakeholders. Qualifications and experience Essential: Degree in Civil Engineering At least 5 years post-qualification experience in the survey, investigation and design of stormwater management infrastructure and cost estimates Demonstrated working experience in civil stormwater engineering with a focus of water sensitive urban design Experience in managing financial budgets with inclusion of forecasting Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations At least 5 years’ experience in GIS packages, computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and design experience with AutoCAD, 12D and water engineering applications such as DRAINS, HEC-RAS, XP-RAFTS, TUFLOW and MUSIC Sound analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to determine and adapt management approaches for a broad range of stormwater, catchment and floodplain management situations Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to work within a team environment Current class C driver’s licence. Desirable: Engineers Australia Chartered Professional Engineering (CPEng) qualification and National Engineering Registration (NER) Experience in CM9, Technology One and CIA. Remuneration and benefits The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
