The Opportunity Acting as the go-to HR person, this is a hands-on, day-to-day role where you’ll handle everything from recruitment and onboarding to ER/IR queries, policy advice and general HR support. While you’ll tap into broader strategies and initiatives led by the wider HR team, this role is about being on the ground, solving problems, and supporting managers and employees directly. What you’ll do: Provide end-to-end recruitment support including sourcing, screening, interviewing, conducting checks and negotiating offers. Manage all onboarding activities from contract creation to site inductions, ensuring new employees have what they need for a smooth start. Maintain candidate pipelines and proactively engage with external providers and immigration agents for overseas recruitment and VISA processes. Support and advise on Employee and Industrial Relations matters, including EBAs, Award interpretation and union interactions. Drive initiatives that strengthen NEPEAN’s EVP and enhance employee engagement. Play a key role in the rollout and adoption of our new Dayforce HRIS across multiple sites. Travel occasionally to NEPEAN sites across Australia. About You As this is a true Generalist position, we are committed to supporting and mentoring in the areas in which you may have little exposure. This position requires a candidate who possesses the ability to influence stakeholders, enact change and enforce policy. Ideally, you will be a: Degree-qualified in HR, Law, Business or similar, with HR experience in fast-paced environments. Knowledge of the Australian VISA system and overseas recruitment practices would be beneficial. Solid ER/IR knowledge, ideally within Manufacturing, Mining or related industries. Confident advisor with strong influencing skills and a hands-on, solutions-focused approach. Passionate about wellbeing and fostering positive workplace culture.
