Our vessels harness wind, solar, and wave power to remain at sea collecting vital data for defence and civilian applications. We are under contract with RAN, RNZN, and USA, and are responding in an agile way to an ambitious program of building and deploying multiple USVs for operations around Australia and beyond. About The Role The new Head of Business Development, Strategy, and Government Relations will be responsible for Ocius's expansion into new markets, developing existing and new relationships with the Australian Government, and ensuring the company follows through on the strategy document. This position is critical for the ongoing expansion of the company. The COO function oversees all Production, Operations, Commercials, and New Business across Ocius. A typical day as the Head of Business Development, Government Relations, and Strategy could include: Aligning business development and marketing activities with strategic objectives and company priorities. Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in Australian and international defence and commercial markets. Tracking and reporting on business development activities, opportunity pipeline, and strategic performance metrics. Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience in leading business development, government relations, and strategic planning for organisations expanding across the commercial and government sectors. Proven ability to identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities across defence, government, and commercial markets. Experience developing and executing strategic growth plans, including customer engagement, market entry, and competitive positioning. Demonstrated ability to guide, support, and share knowledge in a small team across business development and marketing functions. A track record of building and leading relationships with key stakeholders including defence, industry partners, and government. The ability to translate business strategy and strategic plans into action, meeting set goals and objectives.
