The Opportunity Council is seeking a Senior Project Manager with significant experience in Landscape Architecture and Open Space Planning projects to help guide and project manage public realm improvements (open space and streetscapes) across the municipality (including research, concept design, planning, scope management, community engagement, management of consultants, development of business cases and funding applications). Responsibilities Take ownership and follow through with meaningful actions to lead projects to successful outcomes. Facilitates, advocates, and provides detailed guidance for public realm improvements Managing open space projects including community engagement to deliver landscape plans Consolidate and coordinate annual renewal Capital Works Budgets for open space. Liaise and coordinate with other departments to establish priorities and work programs Creation of graphic material including documentation, artist impressions and concept plans. Undertake planning for open space improvements within the municipality including liaising and coordinating with other Departments Provide strategic advice to management to ensure Council is responsive to community needs Actively influence and contribute to other strategies, policies and plans across Council and provide advice and recommendations of open space improvements across the organisation, in particular the implementation of MV2040, the Open Space Strategy and Council Plan. Use professional knowledge, networks and other information sources to identify and investigate opportunities for innovation Skills & Experience Previous experience working within a multi-skilled, high volume, customer driven environment. Degree or Diploma in the discipline of Landscape Architecture or Urban Design, or other relevant discipline eligible High level interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective relationships with Council, the community, management and staff and the ability to resolve problems innovatively High level project management skills and demonstrated ability to deliver projects and services in a complex political environment on time, on budget and to a high standard High level verbal and written skills to communicate to a range of stakeholders Extensive experience in public realm design, community engagement, place activation with a proven record of demonstrating flexible and innovative responses in a changing environment High level technical skills with the ability to critically review and create guidelines, documentation, and specifications.
