The Litmos Training Content team includes product and project managers, instructional designers and digital designers. Instructional designers are at the centre of our course development process and work closely with the broader team. You’ll be joining a tight-knit team who are passionate about what they do and have fun and support each other while getting the work done. Role: The Instructional Designer is responsible for developing innovative and high-quality e-learning and assisting in product development projects. Working within the Content Development team, the role is primarily responsible for designing learning strategies, researching source material, and writing outlines and content for courses. From time to time they will assist in content development projects that could include research, resource scheduling and project co-ordination. The role contributes to developing creative learning solutions, is ultimately responsible for the quality and appropriateness of learning content and works closely with members of the team to execute ideas. Key responsibilities include: Develop training in accordance with project briefs Research, review, analyse and assemble source content Write learning strategies and course outlines Write and structure content in course storyboards with recommendations for interactivity, user experience and visual elements Write course storyboards that align with established templates and styles guides Review existing courses and revise to include content changes and user experience improvements Peer review storyboards Review courses at each stage of production and quality assure for content accuracy, appropriate interactivity and user experience Write course information and metadata such as course descriptions Research and write thought blogs, articles and other customer facing materials on learning and instructional design topics Liaise with product managers and subject matter experts Research new and emerging education best practices and suggest improvement initiatives Assist in other content development projects that could include research, resource scheduling and project co-ordination Qualifications, skills and experience Qualification in Education, Communications or similar Minimum two years professional experience in instructional design or relevant occupation Solid understanding of educational principles and methodologies Excellent written language skills, including writing in plain language, structural editing, copy editing, and proof reading Personal attributes Innovative and creative problem solving Good communication skills Conceptual thinker Good interpersonal and time management skills Self-motivated Team player Able to work to deadlines and budgets Strict attention to detail Flexible approach to managing and prioritising business requirements Committed to personal development Please note, whilst this role is home-office based, the team meets on a regular basis in central Melbourne, therefore we are looking for people who can commute into Melbourne for in-person days with the team as required.
