We’re partnering with a dynamic and growing Australian apparel business seeking a driven Assistant Product Developer to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who’s ready to build hands-on experience across the full knitwear product lifecycle. About the Role As the Assistant Product Developer, you’ll play a pivotal support role to the Knitwear Manager and broader design & product team. You’ll be actively involved in every stage of the product journey, from seasonal trend research and fittings to liaising with offshore suppliers, preparing samples, and coordinating marketing and wholesale requirements. Some Duties: Support seasonal trend research and sample administration, ensuring samples are measured and checked ahead of fittings. Attend weekly fit sessions, take notes, and learn the technical aspects of garment construction. Liaise with offshore suppliers, providing fit comments and approvals, and assist in approving pre-production and shipping samples Create garment sketches in Illustrator and InDesign. Develop CAD designs, storyboards, and ensure proper file management and storage. Coordinate timely availability of samples for photography shoots (wardrobe, lifestyle, ghost). Ensure all samples match bulk production details, prepare for shoots, and manage archiving. About you: Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and CAD design tools. Solid Excel skills and confidence across Microsoft Office. Highly organised, great at managing timelines, and thrive in a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. A positive, can-do attitude and eagerness to grow with a passionate team.
