We’re looking for a natural collaborator to support the delivery of the 2025 NSW Aboriginal Languages Week events and activities and communications campaign, and exciting program of events across 2026. About the Role The Senior Project Officer, Events plays a vital role in leading the planning and delivery of professional, safe, and high-quality events that support the strategic objectives of the Aboriginal Languages Trust (ALT). This role contributes to the ongoing reclamation, revitalisation, reawakening, and growth of Aboriginal languages across NSW. You will coordinate the creative direction, production, operations, and logistics of key ALT events. This includes managing programming (e.g. artists, performances, run orders), technical requirements, contracts, permits, and event infrastructure. A core part of the role is ensuring all services are delivered professionally, efficiently, and in compliance with government procedures, legislative requirements, and cultural protocols. The position also provides high-level advice to the Manager and Executive Director on event strategies, emerging risks and issues, and stakeholder coordination. You will work closely with Aboriginal communities, government partners, and internal teams to deliver impactful events and campaigns that reflect the Trust’s values and purpose. About the Team The Aboriginal Languages Trust is a growing agency committed to preserving and strengthening Aboriginal languages across NSW. The Events team works closely with the Communications team to support community engagement and cultural visibility by coordinating activities that reflect and celebrate Aboriginal languages and identities. We're Looking For Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor content for culturally diverse audiences and Aboriginal communities. Demonstrated experience in project management, event planning and delivery, with strong attention to detail and cultural safety. Proven stakeholder engagement experience, particularly working with Aboriginal communities, Elders, and government representatives.
