About the Role This is a rare opportunity for an experienced legal professional to step into a Legal Practice Manager position and drive the performance, growth, and reputation of the Cairns branch. As the leader of the local team, you’ll be responsible for overseeing operations, coaching and mentoring staff, managing complex matters, and representing the firm across the region. Reporting to a local North QLD based General Manager you will also have extensive support from Shine’s national office. This role is suited to someone ready to lead with integrity, drive business development, and build strong ties within the local community. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and support a team of legal professionals and support staff. Oversee legal practice performance, workflow, and compliance with key case management processes. Manage and run a personal caseload of personal injury matters to a high professional standard. Develop and implement case strategies, review legal documentation, and ensure optimal client outcomes. Drive business development initiatives and foster relationships across the local community and industry. Manage budgets, team KPIs, and branch financial performance. Cultivate a high-performing, values-aligned team culture. Represent Shine Lawyers as a brand ambassador at events and within the broader legal community. Collaborate with the national leadership team and leverage head office support to grow the Cairns branch. Skills and Experience Required Current Australian practicing certificate. Minimum 5 years’ PAE, ideally in personal injury or related litigation. Demonstrated leadership experience within a legal setting. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage and grow a practice. Experience in business development and stakeholder engagement. A values-driven, client-focused approach with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
