The Role An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Payroll Officer to join the payroll team on a temporary basis. This role will focus exclusively on setting up and managing the Workers Retention Payment (WRP) for over 600 staff across the organisation. This is a vital project, and the successful candidate will play a key role in streamlining and coordinating the WRP payments, which are currently being processed manually. You will work closely with the Payroll Manager to ensure all communications, payment calculations, and documentation are accurate and timely. Key Responsibilities Lead the setup and implementation of Workers Retention Payments (WRP) Collaborate with Payroll and HR teams to issue back payment letters to employees Ensure the accurate calculation and processing of payments and adjustments Draft communications explaining changes to pay and working hours Assist with transitioning from a manual to a streamlined process Support with data reporting and compliance activities The Ideal Candidate You will be an experienced payroll professional with a strong understanding of payroll operations and employee entitlements. Ideally, you’ll have knowledge of the early childhood sector and previous experience with government-funded payment schemes such as WRP. You will also bring: Demonstrated experience in payroll processing and system management Knowledge of Workers Retention or similar grant payments Confidence managing large volumes of employee data High attention to detail and excellent communication skills A collaborative and proactive working style Experience using payroll systems (Dayforce experience is desirable but not essential) Flexibility to be office-based initially, with hybrid working available thereafter at the discretion of the Payroll Manager Our Recruitment Process At Lotus People, we are committed to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.
