Position Overview Homelessness NSW is seeking a dynamic Industry Development Director to lead our industry and workforce development agenda in the homelessness sector. The Director is responsible for strategic leadership across our learning and development, sector accreditation and Aboriginal workforce development portfolios. You will need a strong understanding of homelessness or community services combined with a strategic mindset. Key Duties & Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership for Homelessness NSW’s Industry and Workforce Development Strategy. Stay informed of homelessness policy, service delivery requirements and trends across NSW. Oversee workforce development initiatives, including quality systems and learning programs. Develop, manage, and evaluate strategic frameworks and multiple industry projects. Build and maintain relationships with homelessness organisations, government agencies, and key sector stakeholders. Lead the preparation of performance reports, research papers and strategic policy documents. Manage a high-performing team to achieve strategic objectives. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, laws, and policies. Conduct and oversee administrative functions, including record keeping, reporting, and meeting coordination. Participate in the senior leadership team and give advice on organisation wide initiatives. Foster an inclusive, discrimination-free, and harassment-free workplace. Promote a safe and healthy working environment, ensuring compliance with WHS policies. Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as directed by Homelessness NSW. Skills & Experience Experience in front line homelessness or community services, or knowledge of the NSW homelessness service system Demonstrated experience in strategic and operational planning Experience in winning government contracts and making successful pitches to other funding bodies Openness to innovation Understanding of service standards and quality management systems in the homelessness sector (desirable) Understanding of the learning life cycle and associated technologies (desirable) Strong writing and reporting skills Experience managing budgets Your Qualification and experience will consist of: A minimum of 7 years of experience in industry and workforce development, policy, quality systems, or learning and development, with demonstrated leadership in a senior strategic role. Working with Aboriginal staff and understanding of cultural practices Tertiary qualifications in social welfare, social work, community work, community development, or a related field. National Police Check (mandatory). Valid Driver’s Licence (mandatory).
