Permanent role Full-time role, based in Sydney OR Melbourne Excellent opportunity to join Westpac’s Group Investigations Team! As a Senior Investigator in Westpac’s Group Investigations team, you’ll lead complex and sensitive investigations into serious staff misconduct and whistleblower disclosures. Your work will directly influence how the bank manages conduct risk, strengthens internal controls, and protects its people and reputation. You’ll collaborate with legal, HR, and compliance teams to uncover facts, assess risk, and drive strategic improvements. This role is based in Sydney or Melbourne and sits within the Enterprise Compliance, Risk Team, reporting to the Executive Manager, Group Investigations. What do I need? To succeed in this role, you’ll bring: Investigative expertise: Proven experience leading misconduct investigations, ideally in law enforcement, regulatory, HR, legal, or financial services settings. Evidence and analysis skills: Strong ability to gather, assess, and present evidence, including financial and digital records, with attention to legal standards and procedural fairness. Strategic mindset: Ability to identify systemic risks and process gaps, and contribute to strategic planning and conduct risk management across the Group. Stakeholder influence: Skilled at engaging with senior leaders, legal advisors, and compliance teams to provide clear, actionable insights and updates.
