We are currently seeking candidates for the next phase of a major Defence information environment modernisation program aimed at delivering the design, build, and deployment of their cutting-edge ICT environment. We are sourcing Configuration Manager for our Canberra team, responsible for overseeing the development and management of Configuration Management processes, ensuring alignment with ITIL best practices with the following experience: Develop and implement Configuration Management policies and procedures in accordance with ITIL best practices to ensure consistency and compliance. Create, maintain, and manage the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring it accurately reflects the current state of the ICT infrastructure. Provide regular reports and recommend improvements where necessary to enhance operational efficiency. Conduct audits and reviews of configuration management processes to ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and ITIL best practices. Identify, document, and address any discrepancies or inconsistencies within the CMDB, working to resolve these issues promptly. Serve as the primary point of contact for configuration management matters, liaising with wider stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration. This role is based in Canberra, ACT . Our work is highly complex and confidential , applicants must be Australian citizens with a minimum NV1 security clearance . Additionally, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be necessary. In some cases, this may impose restrictions individuals who are dual citizens, permanent residency, or former nationality of specific countries as outlined in ITAR 126.1. We are seeking candidates with defence industry experience in the follow areas: Strong experience in Configuration management within Defence, government, or professional services with a strong track record in managing configuration processes. In-depth understanding of Defence ICT operations and processes. Experience with the Defence Service Management System, including its use in configuration management. Proficient in using Configuration Management Tools, with practical knowledge of ITIL V4 practices, particularly in Change, Configuration, and Asset Management. Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality documentation and procedures. Practical experience with Change, Configuration, and Asset Management following ITIL V4 practices. Experience in deploying and using software discovery applications, as well as handling Defence software audit and compliance processes.
