Workfast is hiring an experienced Team Leader to oversee a park maintenance project in Commonwealth Park, Canberra ACT. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and team supervision. You will be responsible for leading multiple teams, managing projects, and ensuring public spaces are well-maintained, clean, and visually appealing. Pay Rate & Hours: $35.95 per hour OT Super Monday to Friday, 6:30 am – 2:36 pm Immediate start available What You Get: Temp to perm opportunity with stable hours Genuine career development and leadership training Work-life balance – no weekend work required Experience working with a national company Upskilling and training opportunities What You Will Be Doing: Supervising and leading multiple teams of park maintenance staff Managing projects to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and within scope Allocating daily tasks and ensuring work is completed efficiently Writing reports on project progress, site conditions, and team performance Driving to different locations and overseeing park maintenance activities Managing soft landscaping (mulching, planting, minor landscaping) Coordinating brush cutting, mowing, and general site clean-up Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards Providing on-the-job training and guidance to team members Liaising with management and stakeholders on project updates What You Need: Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in park maintenance, landscaping, or a related industry Proven ability to manage multiple teams and oversee projects Experience writing reports and documenting site progress Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team Industry experience in landscaping, horticulture, or groundskeeping (preferred) White Card (construction induction card) Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clear driving record Ability to work hands-on while overseeing a team Excellent attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety Strong communication and problem-solving skills About us Workfast is a labour-hire company working with some of Australia’s largest businesses across multiple industries.
